What makes us tick

Nothing compares to having someone who speaks the same language as you.

Being in a community of like-minded people is one of the best feelings ever.

Heroes of Today is the brainchild of Tracey Hall, who realised first-hand that having a supportive community makes you feel like you can conquer the world, achieve anything, and come out on top.

Tracey knows more about loneliness than most. She went to 17 schools — 13 primary and 4 high schools — across two states in Australia. Constantly being the “new kid” gave her a deep understanding of what it feels like to be disconnected, unseen, or left out.

But her most challenging season came years later. As a mum with a 13-year-old, a 5-year-old, and a baby, Tracey faced overwhelming isolation and reached a point where life felt unbearable. With no family support, and only her GP and a few close friends to lean on, she found herself battling thoughts of ending it all.

In the middle of that darkness, Tracey stumbled upon something that changed everything — community. Of all places, she found it on Facebook. Struggling with insomnia, she could reach out at any time of the day or night and always find someone to talk to. That simple but powerful connection gave her hope, reminded her she wasn’t alone, and helped her keep going.

It’s that lived experience — knowing the life-saving power of connection — that fuels her mission. Heroes of Today was born from her determination to make sure no one ever has to walk through loneliness or disconnection by themselves.

At Heroes of Today, we believe filling your emotional and communication cup is not just important — it’s life-changing. Every single member of our groups deserves to feel supported, encouraged, and uplifted. Because when you find your people, you find your strength — and with that, there’s nothing you can’t overcome…
